Narration:
There are certain types of keyword in the IELTS test that can help you easily scan for information. These words are generally not rephrased in the passage. For example: Place names, people’s names, anything in bold or inverted commas (‘ ‘), acronyms, dates, years, times and numbers. Be aware, however, that some keywords may appear many times in the passage. For example, in this question there is a person’s name, but if the entire passage was about Orwell then it would not be a useful scanning keyword.
