What this site collects, what it does not, and how advertising cookies work here. Last updated 20 August 2026.
IELTSforFREE is published at www.ieltsforfree.com and is a division of IELTStestONLINE. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the site. If you have a question or a complaint about anything on this page, write to complaints@ieltsforfree.com and we will answer.
The site is free to use. There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no payment is taken anywhere on it. The site is paid for by advertising, which is the reason most of this policy is about advertising cookies rather than about anything we hold ourselves.
Information
Very little, because the site does not ask you for anything.
Our web server keeps standard access logs. These record the address of the page requested, the date and time, the browser and operating system reported by your device, the page you arrived from, and your IP address. Logs are used to keep the site running and to investigate faults, abuse and attacks. They are held on our server in New Zealand and are deleted on a rolling basis.
If you send us an email, we hold that email and your address so we can reply to you. We do not add you to any mailing list and we do not pass your address to anyone else.
The search box at the top of the site filters a list of page titles inside your own browser. What you type into it is not sent to us and is not stored.
We do not ask for your name, your address, your date of birth or your test date. We do not take payment on this site, so we never see card details. We do not sell information about you to anybody, because we have nothing to sell.
Advertising
The part of this policy that actually matters.
This site carries advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and to other sites on the internet.
Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site, and may also use cookies or similar technologies to do so. We do not control those vendors and we do not have access to the information they collect.
Cookies set by advertising are not set by us and cannot be read by us. They do not contain your name or your email address.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google My Ad Center. You can opt out of personalised advertising by many other vendors at optout.aboutads.info or at Your Online Choices. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will keep working normally if you do.
Consent
You are asked before advertising cookies are used.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message the first time they arrive. Your choice controls whether advertising on the site is personalised. If you consent, you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the message back on your next visit.
Choosing not to consent does not restrict any part of the site. Every page, exercise and test remains open to you.
Measurement
Counting pages, not people.
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, how visitors reach the site and roughly which countries they are in. This tells us which exercises to write next. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes the data on our behalf. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with anything else.

Pages here link to IELTStestONLINE, to ExamEnglishforFREE and to outside sites such as the official IELTS partners. Advertisements link to sites we have no relationship with at all. Once you follow any of those links you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy and not this one. We suggest reading it if you intend to give them any information.
Age
This site is written for adult test candidates.
IELTS candidates are normally sixteen or older, and the material here is written for them. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Because the site asks for nothing, there is nothing for a younger visitor to submit.
Contact
One address, and a real person reads it.
Write to complaints@ieltsforfree.com if you want to know what we hold about you, if you want it deleted, if you think something on the site is wrong, or if an advertisement has appeared that should not have. Tell us the page address and roughly when you saw it, because advertising changes by the hour and that is what lets us trace it.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Continuing to use the site after that date means the current version applies.
