Below is an example of a classifying question. Classifying questions and matching questions are very similar, and can require you to connect a statement with a person, place or something else. These types of questions can be tricky as reference words are commonly used in the text which can be misleading, so it’s important to have good techniques and a lot of practice! As with all question types, techniques and skills will be presented and practiced in much more detail in a later lesson.

According to the information in Reading Passage 1, classify the following events as occurring

  1. before 43 AD
  2. between 43 AD and 700 AD
  3. after 700 AD
