Part Three. The complete speaking test takes between 11 and 14 minutes. Part Three of the test takes between 4 and 5 minutes. In this section of the test, you will be asked ‘extension’ questions related to the subject of the topic card. The questions you are asked in Part Three will be more in-depth than in Part One. The number of questions you will be asked depends on how long your answers are, so you should try to expand as much as possible. During Part Three, you will be discussing more serious issues, so your responses should become more formal. For example, in Part One you might say ‘I believe’ or ‘I think’, whereas in Part Three, you should aim for phrases like ‘From my point of view, I would argue that…’
